LASCO CF-12 Single Speed 42T Crank Set

If you're a road cyclist that likes a variety of terrain and gearing options then a double (or triple) crankset is your obvious choice. The are standard on all road bikes usually in a 52/42 configuration.

Personally, I very rarely ever used the 52 ring. It's just too big for me to turn at the cadence I like to ride at. I blame this on the Mountain Bike Gearing I grew up touring on. I may go out on a road bike for some fast fun, but I still seldom leave the 42T ring.

Now, if you are looking to covert a road bike or other bike into a dedicated commuter or something where the extra ring, derailleur and shifter are not necessary, this will do the trick.

A single 42T ring with bash guard (or chain guard as I prefer) to keep your pant leg out of the chain. It's made of polished aluminum that looks good, a steel chain ring and has a 170mm arm length.
