Bike Attitude Downtube Cable Stops

Downtube shifters were the standard on racing bikes until index shifting made its way to the handlebars and reliable "brifters" made their debut in the late 80s. There are soooo many nice frames out there with downtube shifters and if it's a real classic, I suggest you leave it that way. 

However, most riders today would find it challenging to reach down to shift especially if the frame was not their ideal size.  

So, if you are moving from down tube shifters mounted on shifter bosses to a handle bar mounted shifter, you'll need a set of these.  Once the old shifters are removed these bolt right on. Each has a barrel adjuster and alloy body. The base (part that goes against the frame) fits flush to the frame tubing. The alternative is a clamp, but that leaves the bosses exposed and without minor adjustments possible at the stops.
