c. 1986 Norco Monterey SL 12 Spd Road Bike-SOLD!
My Personal: Why I am right for you ;)
Ok…so all the other road bicycles you've seen are cool but you really like old-school. You like watching the “tour” but aren’t keen on throwing down a grand or more on a new bike, and don't even think of finding someone like me hanging out at a another shop. Oh, did I tell you I like to go fast too. My steel frame absorbs road shock nicely my drive train is pure racing. I am all original except for a NOS pair of Panracer tires, some grip tape and some cables. I don’t like to brag (too much,) but I am better than average (that’s what the SL means). I am looking for someone around 5’10” who likes the open roads and the sound of freewheels spinning at high speed. I am 2X’s ECO-Friendly: you’ll be keeping one bicycle out of the landfill and keeping another from being manufactured! If you want to see if you can keep up with me, then…Let’s go for a ride!
If you are serious about going a little further a little faster, then what you need is a dedicated road bicycle. Unlike the typical 10 speed from the 80' which was intended for recreational use, this bike is a member of the sport-touring class. This would be the 80's equivalent of today's mid-level road bike from your local LBS.
This bike offers value, speed and nostalgia all in one cool ride. Norco was and is a respected brand in cycling. This bicycle sports some of the better components of the time.
