c.1983 Raleigh Mixte "Misty" 7 Spd - Sold!

My Personal: Why I am right for you ;)

I was born in Nottingham, England, the birthplace of Raleigh bicycles.  The people who built me knew and loved bicycles.  Sadly, bicycles built today that carry the Raleigh name are not true Raleighs! The care and pride with which I was built means than I was built to last.  As you can see I am 31 years old and don’t look a day over 5! The only work I needed was a new set of tires, and my drive train received an update.  I am looking for someone who will take me out me everyday and appreciate my pedigree and quality.  I am quick, agile and fun to ride.  Don’t tell the others but I am my owners favourite. My ideaI partner is someone between 5’4”-5’10” who will spoil me with a new basket.  I am 2X’s ECO-Friendly: you’ll be keeping one bicycle out of the landfill and keeping another from being manufactured! If you don’t believe the difference quality makes, then…Let’s go for a ride!

Built by Raleigh of Nottingham, these bikes are ready available in the UK, not so much in Canada. This is a Raleigh that is deserving of the name.  A "mixte" is a french word for mixed or unisex.  Characteristic of mixtes is twin tubes that run from the front to the back drops outs.  Mixtes are known to be quick and agile bicycles with a dedicated following of riders.

This particular bicycle is in exquisite condition. The paint is burgundy and bright and nary a scratch.  The 6 Spd Shimano Positon drivetrain has been replaced with a more modern index 7 Spd Derailleur and shifter.  Everything else is original right down to the air pump which is secured by frame pegs.  It would look great with a Peterboro Regular Basket in Cherry (we have them). This one won't last long!
