A lot of tires now have a layer of anti-puncture material between the tread and casing. When trying to get the best width and tread profile, sometime you cut into this layer. That's what gives this belt it green pin strip edge. These anti puncture tires are fairly thick and resilient. They hold their shape well. This one has a smooth "city tread" with good character. The black buckle is contoured and matches the belt tread really well. It's a great everyday belt for wearing with jeans.
The belt is wide. It measures nearly 1.25" (30 mm) wide and is UNCUT, meaning it can be cut to a custom length. Do measure an existing belt and provide the length in the comments at time of ordering. The belt will be cut to the length provided at time of ordering. There will be 8-10 holes spaced 1" (25mm) apart when finished, and the end will be chevroned. This will ensure it is the perfect size for the very person who is so lucky to be on the receiving end of your good taste in accessories!
Bicycle tire belts are comfortable, pass easily through belt loops and have just a little stretch. Best worn with jeans. Each is an original and a conversation piece that speaks to both your bicycling way of life and contribution to a greener world. Well done!
Like all our tire belts, this one was made from a discarded bicycle tire. Where possible we use recycled buckles from traditional belts collected from a variety of sources, some of which contribute to local nonprofits. Each tire has been cut to give the best tread exposure, then cleaned and assembled using Chicago bolts (as opposed to rivets). This will allow the owner to swap buckles at a later date if so desired.
